Grouts & Anchors

Non-shrink grouts are precision-engineered cementitious or epoxy materials that fill the void beneath machine bases, bridge bearings, and structural connections without shrinking on curing — ensuring full bearing contact, accurate load transfer, and lasting alignment in static and dynamic applications.

CFC Egypt manufactures a complete grouting and anchoring range at our Sadat City plant, from cementitious grouts for standard machine grouting to epoxy grouts for dynamic rotating machinery and chemically aggressive environments. Our EGYGROUT cementitious series covers high-strength, non-shrinking, pourable cast grouts for thicknesses up to 50 mm (EGYGROUT 50), 100 mm (EGYGROUT 100), and 400 mm (EGYGROUT 200). The EGYGROUT EP series provides epoxy grouting where high compressive strength, creep resistance under dynamic load, or chemical resistance to process fluids is required, while EGYGROUT EP10 is a solvent-free epoxy injection resin for cracks. EGYFIX is a two-component, polyester-based anchoring adhesive for fixing reinforcing bars into concrete, and EGYCRETE 500 is a high-strength, non-shrink, flowable micro-concrete for sections up to 500 mm.

01

What It Covers

Grouting chemistry spans two main technology families — cementitious and epoxy — with sub-grades matched to different section depths, loading conditions, and chemical environments.

01

Non-Shrink Cementitious Grouts

High-strength, non-shrinking, pourable cast grouts (EGYGROUT 50, EGYGROUT 100, EGYGROUT 200) for general repairs and strengthening, that achieve zero or slight positive expansion during curing through a controlled mechanism. The grades are matched to the placement thickness: EGYGROUT 50 for sections up to 50 mm, EGYGROUT 100 up to 100 mm, and EGYGROUT 200 up to 400 mm, covering machine baseplates, bearing pads, and deeper voids.

02

Epoxy Grouting Systems

Epoxy grouts (EGYGROUT EP series) for high-performance machine grouting, dynamic machinery foundations, and chemically exposed installations. EGYGROUT EP is a three-component, high-strength pourable epoxy grout, while EP40 and EP75 are solvent-free epoxy grouts for grouting gap widths of roughly 10–40 mm and 25–75 mm respectively. EGYGROUT EP10 is a two-component, solvent-free epoxy injection resin for cracks. Epoxy grouts develop high compressive strength, have low creep under sustained dynamic load, and are resistant to oils, fuels, hydraulic fluids, and mild acid and alkali process chemicals.

03

Anchoring Adhesives

EGYFIX is a two-component, polyester-based anchoring adhesive (resin) for fixing post-installed reinforcing bars and bolts into concrete. The resin is dispensed into the pre-drilled hole and encapsulates the bar to develop the bond. For crack injection or where a solvent-free epoxy resin is preferred, EGYGROUT EP10 epoxy injection resin provides an alternative chemistry for filling and sealing cracks.

04

High-Strength Structural Grouts

EGYCRETE 500 is a high-strength, non-shrink, flowable micro-concrete for grouting and repair in sections up to 500 mm — suitable for bridge bearing plinths, precast element seating, column-to-foundation connections, and critical machine pad grouting. As a micro-concrete it carries selected aggregates to give high strength with dimensional stability over deeper sections than a standard grout.

05

Selection by Application

System selection depends on section depth (EGYGROUT 50 up to 50 mm; EGYGROUT 100 up to 100 mm; EGYGROUT 200 up to 400 mm; EGYCRETE 500 micro-concrete up to 500 mm), compressive strength requirement, dynamic loading (epoxy grout for high-speed rotating machinery or equipment subject to shock load), and chemical exposure (epoxy for oil, fuel, or process chemical contact). Our technical team can advise on selection and review your specific installation details.

02

Where It's Used

Non-shrink grouting is required in any installation where precise load transfer, accurate alignment, and void-free bearing contact are critical to the performance or service life of the supported structure or equipment.

Machine Bases & Pump Skids

Precision grouting beneath machine bases, compressor skids, pump sets, and generator frames is the most common application for non-shrink grout. The grout must fill the void completely without any air entrapment, develop sufficient compressive and tensile strength to resist vibration-induced fatigue, and maintain stable dimensions so the machine alignment set during installation is preserved in service. Epoxy grades are specified for high-speed or high-power machines where dynamic loading would cause creep in cementitious grout.

Bridge Bearings & Structural Connections

Bridge bearings, precast concrete beam seats, and structural column base connections require non-shrink grout that develops high compressive strength quickly to support construction loads, achieves zero shrinkage to maintain the designed bearing area, and provides durable long-term performance under cyclic traffic loading. EGYCRETE 500 is the appropriate grade for these critical structural applications where the consequences of grout failure are severe.

Rebar Dowels & Holding-Down Bolts

Post-installed rebar starter bars for slab-to-wall connections, holding-down bolts for steelwork base plates, and cast-in fixings for equipment supports are anchored using EGYFIX, a two-component polyester-based anchoring adhesive. The adhesive must achieve bond strength to both the bar and the drilled hole wall sufficient to transfer the design tension or shear load, with adequate embedment depth and hole diameter to suit the bar size and load requirement. For crack injection, EGYGROUT EP10 epoxy injection resin is also available.

Column Bases & Steel Frame Erection

Steel column base plates set on pocket foundations or prepared concrete plinths require grouting to transfer compression, shear, and moment from the column to the foundation. The grout is placed after the column has been plumbed and aligned on temporary shims; it must flow to fill the void beneath the plate completely and must be non-shrink so that the load-bearing contact area set by design is maintained after curing and shim removal. Stiff-grade cementitious grout is appropriate for most column-base grouting; epoxy grout is specified where moment transfer or eccentric loading creates high tensile demands on the grout section.

Industrial Equipment & Infrastructure

Crushers, mills, turbines, transformers, switchgear plinths, and heavy process equipment all require precision foundation grouting. In chemical plants and refineries, where the foundation concrete and grout are exposed to process spillage, epoxy grouting systems provide the chemical resistance needed to maintain the installation's structural integrity through the normal service life of the plant. CFC Egypt's EGYGROUT EP range covers a three-component pourable grout (EP) and solvent-free epoxy grouts (EP40, EP75) for gap widths of roughly 10–40 mm and 25–75 mm.

Frequently Asked Questions

Technical and commercial questions on grouting and anchoring answered plainly. For a specific application or product recommendation, contact our technical team.

Non-shrink grout is a cementitious or epoxy material that expands slightly (or maintains zero shrinkage) during curing so that it fills the void beneath a baseplate completely and maintains full bearing contact after hardening. Standard concrete shrinks as it cures, leaving voids beneath a baseplate that cause vibration-induced fatigue, uneven load transfer, and misalignment. Non-shrink grouts achieve volume stability through a controlled expansion mechanism. CFC Egypt's EGYGROUT 50, 100, and 200 are high-strength, non-shrinking, pourable cast grouts for thicknesses up to 50 mm, 100 mm, and 400 mm respectively.

Cementitious non-shrink grouts (EGYGROUT 50, 100, 200) are cement-based, cost-effective, and suitable for general machine grouting and repair where chemical exposure is limited; they are high-strength, non-shrinking, pourable cast grouts. Epoxy grouts (EGYGROUT EP, EP40, EP75) are resin-based systems that develop high compressive strength, with low creep under dynamic load and resistance to oils, fuels, and process chemicals; EGYGROUT EP10 is a related solvent-free epoxy injection resin for cracks. Epoxy grouts are specified for high-speed rotating machinery, shock-loaded equipment, and chemically exposed installations.

Machine baseplate grouting follows this sequence: prepare the foundation surface by grit blasting or mechanical roughening; pre-wet the concrete to saturated surface-dry condition (cementitious grout) or apply an epoxy primer; set and level the baseplate on temporary shims to the specified elevation and alignment; install formwork around the baseplate; mix grout and pour from one side only to avoid trapping air; cure undisturbed for the specified period; remove formwork and shims; verify bearing contact before tightening anchor bolts. CFC Egypt's technical data sheets provide mixing ratios, pot life, placement temperature range, and minimum compressive strength data for each grade.

CFC Egypt supplies EGYFIX as an anchoring adhesive for post-installed reinforcing bars and bolts. EGYFIX is a two-component, polyester-based anchoring adhesive (resin) — not a cementitious grout — dispensed into the drilled hole to encapsulate and bond the bar. For crack injection or where a solvent-free epoxy resin is preferred, EGYGROUT EP10 epoxy injection resin provides an alternative chemistry.

CFC Egypt's grouting and anchoring range includes: EGYGROUT 50, 100, and 200 (high-strength, non-shrinking, pourable cast grouts for thicknesses up to 50 mm, 100 mm, and 400 mm); EGYGROUT EP, EP40, EP75 (epoxy grouts, with EP40 and EP75 for gap widths of roughly 10–40 mm and 25–75 mm); EGYGROUT EP10 (a solvent-free epoxy injection resin for cracks); EGYFIX (a two-component polyester-based anchoring adhesive for reinforcing bars); and EGYCRETE 500 (a high-strength, non-shrink, flowable micro-concrete for sections up to 500 mm). All products are manufactured at CFC Egypt's Sadat City facility.
