Industrial & Decorative Flooring

Industrial and decorative floor systems are resin-based coatings — epoxy, polyurethane, or hybrid — applied over prepared concrete substrates to produce seamless, durable, chemical-resistant floor surfaces tailored to the specific mechanical, hygienic, and aesthetic demands of manufacturing, logistics, commercial, and specialist facilities.

CFC Egypt manufactures a comprehensive flooring range at our Sadat City plant, from thin-film epoxy sealers for commercial areas to high-build, self-levelling systems for pharmaceutical cleanrooms and food production halls. Our EGYPOX flooring grades are formulated for the ambient temperatures and substrate conditions typical of Egyptian industrial construction: fast-reacting systems that achieve early foot-traffic resistance even in summer heat, and products with the chemical resistance profile required for Egyptian industrial use — acids, alkalis, oils, solvents, and cleaning agents. Whether you need a standard two-coat factory floor or a specialist anti-static or food-grade system, we supply the chemistry and the technical support to get the floor right.

01

What It Covers

Industrial flooring chemistry spans five technology families. System selection depends on the service load, chemical exposure, hygiene requirement, and whether an anti-slip, anti-static, or decorative finish is required.

01

Epoxy Floor Coatings

Two-component epoxy systems applied in thin-film (0.25–0.5 mm) or high-build (1–6 mm) configurations depending on the required performance level. Thin-film grades (EGYPOX 52, EGYPOX W) seal concrete and provide basic chemical and abrasion resistance for light-duty use; high-build grades (EGYPOX 1175, EGYPOX 25) provide heavy-duty protection against fork-lift traffic, acid and alkali spills, and the sustained mechanical loading of industrial floors.

02

Self-Levelling Floor Systems

Low-viscosity epoxy formulations (EGYPOX FL2, EGYPOX FL4, EGYPOX FM15) that flow to a flat, seamless surface under gravity, eliminating the trowelling marks and pinholes that are common defects in hand-applied coatings. Self-levelling systems are the standard specification for pharmaceutical production areas, laboratories, and food facilities where surface flatness, cleanability, and absence of joints or pores are paramount.

03

Polyurethane & Hybrid Finishes

Polyurethane topcoats (EGYCOAT PU, EGYCOAT TP) applied over epoxy base coats provide improved UV stability for naturally lit facilities, greater abrasion resistance from rubber-tyred traffic, and enhanced flexibility for substrates subject to minor deflection. Seal coats (EGYSEAL PU, EGYSEAL SF, EGYSEAL WR, EGYSEAL WS, EGYSEAL EPW) protect existing concrete or epoxy floors with a re-coatable maintenance layer that restores chemical resistance and appearance without the cost of full re-flooring.

04

Anti-Static (ESD) Flooring

Electrostatic dissipative flooring (EGYPOX AS) controls the build-up and discharge of static electricity in environments where sparks could ignite flammable vapours or damage sensitive electronic components. The system includes a conductive primer, an earthing grid of copper tape, and the ESD topcoat — installed to achieve a controlled surface resistivity (typically 10⁵–10⁹ Ω) in accordance with EN 61340 or equivalent.

05

Dry-Shake Floor Hardeners

Dry-shake surface hardeners (EGYHARD 300, EGYHARD 350, EGYHARD 400) are broadcast onto fresh concrete during the finishing operation and trowelled in to produce a monolithic, densified surface layer with significantly higher abrasion resistance than plain concrete. Metallic-aggregate grades are specified for very heavy industrial floors — foundries, logistics centres, and areas subject to steel-wheeled vehicle traffic — where resin coatings alone would not provide adequate surface hardness.

02

Where It's Used

Industrial and decorative floor systems are applied wherever a plain concrete surface does not provide sufficient durability, hygiene, chemical resistance, or appearance for the intended use. The system specification is driven by the traffic type, chemical exposure, and regulatory requirements of the facility.

Factories & Manufacturing Plants

Manufacturing floors carry fork-lift and pedestrian traffic, experience chemical spills from lubricants, cutting fluids, and cleaning agents, and must withstand impact from dropped components. High-build epoxy coatings in 3–5 mm thickness with anti-slip aggregate provide the combination of impact resistance, chemical resistance, and cleanability that production environments require. Anti-static finishes are specified in electronics assembly and powder-coating areas where electrostatic discharge is a quality or safety risk.

Warehouses & Logistics Centres

High-bay warehouses and distribution centres have large concrete floor areas subject to repeated heavy fork-lift passages, racking point loads, and the abrasion of polyurethane-tyred vehicles. Dry-shake hardened concrete slabs with an epoxy or PU seal coat provide the most economical floor solution at scale, combining the structural load-capacity of the concrete slab with the durability and cleanability of a resin surface layer.

Car Parks & Multi-Storey Decks

Car park decks require a floor system that is waterproof, abrasion-resistant, and flexible enough to accommodate structural deflection and the thermal movement of exposed decks. Polyurethane deck coatings (EGYCOAT PU) applied over an epoxy primer provide the combination of waterproofing, UV stability, and flexibility needed for this application, protecting the structural slab from de-icing salts, oil spills, and the cumulative fatigue of vehicle traffic.

Food & Beverage Production

Food production facilities require seamless floors with no joints or pores where bacteria can accumulate, that are resistant to the acids, sugars, fats, and alkali cleaning agents common in food processing, and that can withstand regular steam cleaning and pressure washing. Self-levelling epoxy systems with appropriate anti-slip texture, coved skirtings at wall junctions, and adequate chemical resistance for the specific process chemistry are the standard specification for production halls, cold rooms, and process bays.

Pharmaceutical & Cleanrooms

Pharmaceutical manufacturing and laboratory cleanrooms require flooring that produces no particulate contamination, is resistant to aggressive solvents and sterilising agents, is easy to decontaminate, and can be installed to achieve the flatness tolerances required for automated guided vehicle systems. Self-levelling epoxy systems with an ESD-compliant topcoat where static control is required meet these demanding specifications and are installed in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) guidelines.

Frequently Asked Questions

Technical and commercial questions on concrete repair answered plainly. For a specific application or product recommendation, contact our technical team.

An industrial epoxy floor system is a multi-layer resin coating applied over a prepared concrete substrate to produce a durable, seamless, chemical-resistant floor. A typical system comprises a penetrating primer that bonds the epoxy to the concrete, one or more build coats that create the required thickness (typically 2–6 mm for heavy industrial use), and a topcoat that determines the surface finish and specific performance properties such as chemical resistance or anti-slip texture. Epoxy systems are selected because they are harder and more chemically resistant than polyurethane, making them well-suited to manufacturing facilities, chemical plants, and warehouses where fork-lift traffic, chemical spills, and heavy point loads are normal service conditions.

Epoxy floor coatings cure to a hard, rigid film that is highly resistant to mechanical abrasion, most industrial chemicals, and impact. They provide excellent adhesion to concrete and are available in a wide range of build thicknesses. Their main limitation is brittleness — epoxy can crack if the substrate flexes significantly, and yellows under UV exposure. Polyurethane (PU) floor coatings are more flexible and have better UV stability, making them suited to car parks, external areas, and naturally lit facilities. PU coatings are often used as topcoats over epoxy base coats to combine epoxy hardness with PU UV-resistance and abrasion performance.

Food production and pharmaceutical facilities require seamless, non-porous flooring that is chemically resistant to cleaning agents, acids, and oils, non-toxic in contact with food, and slip-resistant when wet. High-build self-levelling epoxy systems with anti-slip aggregate broadcast are the standard choice for production areas and drain channels. Systems must be applied to a sound concrete substrate with tensile strength of at least 1.5 N/mm² to prevent delamination from thermal shock or pressure washing. CFC Egypt's EGYPOX FL2, FL4, and FM15 self-levelling grades are formulated for hygienic environments.

Anti-static (electrostatic-dissipative) floor coatings contain a network of conductive carbon particles within the resin matrix that provide a controlled path for static electricity to dissipate safely to earth, preventing electrostatic charge build-up on the floor surface, personnel, or equipment. They are applied over a copper earth-strip grid bonded to the structural earth of the building. ESD floors are specified in electronics manufacturing, data centres, explosive-goods storage, and areas where static discharge could ignite flammable vapours or damage sensitive components. EGYPOX AS from CFC Egypt is formulated to meet ESD requirements.

CFC Egypt's flooring range covers thin-film epoxy sealers (EGYPOX 52, EGYPOX W) for light-duty commercial use; self-levelling systems (EGYPOX FL2, EGYPOX FL4, EGYPOX FM15) for pharmaceutical and food facilities; high-build coatings (EGYPOX 1175, EGYPOX 25) for heavy industrial floors; anti-static flooring (EGYPOX AS) for ESD environments; PU floor sealers (EGYCOAT PU, EGYCOAT TP); dry-shake hardeners (EGYHARD 300, EGYHARD 350, EGYHARD 400) for industrial slabs; and concrete seal coats (EGYSEAL EPW, EGYSEAL SF, EGYSEAL WR, EGYSEAL WS). All products are manufactured at our Sadat City plant.
