Making things that last.
Using what we need.

We are a manufacturing company. We consume raw materials, run industrial equipment, and ship products across borders. This page describes what we are actually doing to reduce unnecessary waste and improve how we operate — not where we aim to be in 2040.

2018 Founded Sadat City Plant · Egypt
01 — Production

Batch what's ordered. Batch it right the first time.

Overproduction is the most direct form of waste in chemical manufacturing. At our Sadat City plant we batch to order: a run starts because a specific order exists, not to fill warehouse space.

Our batching process runs fixed, documented formulations. The same weigh-ups, the same mixing sequence, the same hold times — every run. That consistency isn't just a quality argument: it means we don't discard off-spec product and rebatch. A batch that fails its in-house test is an exception we investigate, not a routine cost we absorb.

We also formulate for concentration. Products that go down at low application rates — admixtures dosed at 0.5–2% by cement weight, coatings applied at 250–400 microns — require less material to do the same job as dilute alternatives. Less product per square metre means less raw material consumed, less packaging, and less to transport.

  • 01

Batch-to-order model. Production runs are triggered by confirmed orders. We do not manufacture speculatively to fill stock positions.

  • 02

Fixed formulations, tested every run. In-house QC before dispatch catches failures before they leave the plant — preventing returns and re-treatment at the application site.

  • 03

Concentrated chemistries. We choose formulations that deliver performance at low application rates, minimising total material used per unit of work.

02 — Product Design

Products designed to not need reapplying.

The most sustainable outcome for a chemical product is that it works so well the structure never needs treatment again. Rework is waste — of materials, of labour, and of the resources embedded in the structure.

Intended: industrial epoxy floor — 5 years in service

Our epoxy floor systems — applied once to a properly prepared substrate — are designed to withstand ten or more years of forklift traffic and daily chemical cleaning without failure. A floor that delaminates after three years and requires full-strip-and-recoat has consumed two to three times the material, time, and disruption of one that simply holds.

The same logic applies to our waterproofing admixtures, which become integral to the concrete matrix. A crystalline admixture that seals the slab permanently requires no membrane maintenance cycles. Our repair mortars are formulated to match substrate modulus and resist debonding — because a patch that falls off has to be done again.

Products that perform mean structures that last — and structures that last don't get demolished and rebuilt.
03 — Plant Operations

Responsible handling at the Sadat City plant.

Industrial chemicals require proper storage, containment, and handling. We maintain these conditions at Factory No. 9 because they are operationally correct — not as a marketing position.

01

Segregated raw material storage

Reactive and incompatible materials are stored in dedicated zones with appropriate containment bunding. This is standard industrial practice; we follow it. Spillage at the plant is contained and not allowed to reach drainage.

02

Packaging recovery

Drums and intermediate bulk containers returned by customers in the Giza region are cleaned and returned to the supply chain where the condition permits. This is partial and dependent on logistics alignment — we are expanding it where practical.

03

Safety Data Sheets for every product

Every CFC product ships with a current SDS. Our customers' site teams and applicators know the handling requirements, PPE, and disposal routes before the product arrives on site. This is a minimum standard we hold to without exception.

04

Water-based formulations where technically viable

Where a water-based formulation meets the technical requirement, we use it in preference to solvent-based alternatives. Several products in our mould coating and construction coating ranges are water-based specifically for this reason. Solvent-based formulations remain where the substrate or performance demand requires them.

04 — Supply Chain

Manufacturing in Egypt, for the MENA market.

Every tonne of product batched at Sadat City and delivered within Egypt is a tonne that did not travel from a European or Asian manufacturing site by sea freight and overland haul.

CFC was founded in 2018 to manufacture industrial chemicals locally rather than import finished product. The Sadat City plant — Factory No. 9, 4th Industrial Zone — batches the majority of our catalogue domestically, sourcing raw materials regionally where suppliers and quality standards permit.

For customers in Egypt, the supply chain from plant to site runs in days, not weeks. Shorter supply chains mean less inventory held, less risk of product expiry before use, and direct communication with the people who made the product when a technical question arises.

Our export markets across the Middle East and North Africa are supplied from the same Sadat City plant — consolidating production rather than establishing distributed manufacturing sites that each carry their own environmental footprint.

05 — Long-Term Impact

Structures that stay in service longer.

Construction and foundry chemistry don't just affect the immediate project. They affect how long the structure or casting performs before it needs repair, replacement, or demolition.

Intended: concrete bridge detail — long service life

A waterproofed basement slab that does not leak doesn't need to be excavated and re-treated. A foundry casting produced without shrinkage defects or inclusions doesn't need to be re-melted and recast. A concrete column repaired correctly the first time doesn't need another repair cycle in five years.

This is not a claim about CFC's environmental credentials — it is a description of what good chemistry does. We manufacture products that are tested to perform so that the work done with them isn't done twice.

  • Integral waterproofing admixtures become a permanent part of the concrete — no maintenance cycle, no membrane replacement.

  • High-bond repair mortars formulated to resist debonding under thermal cycling — so the repair does not need repairing.

  • Foundry chemistry that reduces casting defects means less material is scrapped and remelted across the foundry's production runs.

06 — Honest accounting

Where we're still working on it.

We don't have a carbon measurement programme. We don't track Scope 2 or Scope 3 emissions. We don't hold third-party environmental certifications. These are real gaps, and we are not going to describe them as works in progress without being specific about what that means in practice.

  • Energy use at the plant is not measured per unit of output. We run production equipment off the Egyptian national grid. We have not yet quantified the energy intensity of our batching operations.

  • Packaging reduction is a goal without a programme. Most product ships in standard plastic drums or multi-wall bags. We are evaluating packaging options but have not committed to a timeline.

  • Raw material sourcing criteria are not formalised. We select suppliers on quality, lead time, and price. Environmental criteria are not yet part of the supplier evaluation process.

  • Wastewater from cleaning operations at the plant is handled according to local regulatory requirements. We have not independently verified that our practice matches best available technique for the sector.

We will update this page as we implement changes — not when we have a strategy document ready.
